Our fandub is...um, well, it's started. At our last big meeting of summer, we watched all of Loveless. Kumoricon happened over Labor Day weekend. Anime club won't be starting until the first Thursday of when school starts up again. So our first meeting is the 29th of September, at 4 pm. Check out Events for more info.

Also, on the first Thursday of fall term, we'll be having a booth at Party In The Park! Where a bunch of student groups get together in the park blocks to advertise themselves. We'll be there for sure, and anyone who goes to club is welcome to join us behind the table! You're just not guaranteed a chair. ;P

Super Secret Dubbing Project

Sooo...who wants to attempt fan dub an anime with us? ;D Inquire at one of our meetings or send an e-mail to anime@pdx.edu!

Steamboy in Portland

Steamboy is coming to Portland!

"A retro science-fiction epic set in Victorian England, Steamboy features an inventor prodigy named Ray Steam who receives a mysterious metal ball containing a new form of energy capable of powering an entire nation. This young boy must use it to fight evil, redeem his family, and save London from destruction. The lush Victorian interiors and the elegance of the era's mechanical design allows Otomo to create dazzling visual backgrounds and machines for this film. With more than 180,000 drawing and 400 CG cuts, Steamboy is sure to be one of the most elaborate animated features of 2004." -From the Sony Pictures Website

Steamboy is by Katsuhiro Otomo, the same guy who made Akira. XD It will be playing at Cinema 21 for the week April 22-28. We'll all be going as a group on the 22nd (opening night!) after anime club that day. I hope you can join us! ^_^

I also updated the Links page. I organized it by putting the different links into categories and saying a short blurb about what the site is about. If you have any recommendations for websites that should be up there, just e-mail us (at anime@pdx.edu) or voice your opinion in the forum. :) Or even if it's not about the Links page, if you have a suggestion, tell us about it!
